infants we see were dedicated in the scripture. 1 Samuel 1:24, Luke 2:22

How Should I be Baptized?

The Greek word for baptism is “baptizo”, and means to dip, plunge, immerse, wash, be
overwhelmed, make fully wet. No one in scripture was ever sprinkled. They were
always totally immersed.

In acts 8:38-39 it speaks of them both going down and coming up out of the water.
Romans 6:1-12, and Col. 2:9-14 both speak of being buried, we are not buried by
sprinkling.

Mat. 28:19 in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost
Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16
Col. 3:17 Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…
Acts 4:12 none other name given among men, whereby we must be saved

Some would say that baptism is considered as works, which if this were so would nullify the grace that
we are saved by in Eph. 2:8.  However, baptism should not be
considered as works, but rather as obedience. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 tells us that “to obey is better than
sacrifice”. Romans 6:16 speaks of being the servants of them that we obey.
So since Jesus was baptized Himself and He commissions us in Mat. 28:19, Mark 16:15-16 it does not
seem to be works, but rather following the example of Christ, and being obedient.

Philippians 2:12-13
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to
will and to do of his good pleasure
